## Description

The TP1-IR wireless touch probe is used for precise workpiece setup and tool measurement on CNC machine tools or as a precision limit switch in automation. Signal transmission between the probe and receiver is via infrared light.

The COMBO set adds the CS16 clamping shank and an M4 D3×20 ruby stylus to the probe, delivered as a pre-centered assembly ready to install in the machine spindle without further adjustment.

## Operating Settings

The probe has two modes: standby and operating. Deflecting the stylus wakes it into operating mode and activates READY; after a set idle time it returns to standby.

### P1 — Duty cycle of the IR LED

Radiated power, set to the distance from the receiver. A higher duty cycle shortens battery life; the quoted range and battery figures are for the factory value.

### P2 — Transition to standby

Idle time from the last deflection before the probe sleeps. In standby it does not transmit and READY is inactive.

### Programming procedure

1. Remove the battery. Tilt the stylus and hold it.
2. Still holding it, insert the battery and screw on the cap. Green LED on.
3. After 2 s, green goes out and red comes on.
4. Release the stylus. Green for 1 s, then off — ready for P1.
   > If green flashes instead, programming mode was not entered — start again.
5. Touch the pad once per unit of P1, each touch under 0.5 s. Red follows the pad.
6. Hold for over 1 s to confirm. With no short touch first, P1 is unchanged.
7. Green flashes back the value of P1.
8. Green for 1 s, then off — ready for P2. Same procedure.
9. Green flashes back the value of P2.
